INTERNATIONALIZATION ACTIVITIES OF SOCIOLOGY STUDY PROGRAM Dissemination of Research Results "Employer and Batik Worker Relations in Indonesia: A Critical Review"

Efforts to strengthen the dissemination of research results conducted by Sociology Lecturers are not only carried out with colleagues in Sociology, but also disseminated in front of a Methodology expert from Germany, Prof. Sabine Brombach today, Wednesday, March 12, 2025 in Prof. Sabine's office as a guest lecturer who is part of the Senior Expert Service (SES) who was invited by the Fishum Sociology Study Program to assist Sociology Study Program Lecturers in scientific writing in order to accelerate and strengthen publication at the international level.

Kanita Khoirun Nisa, presented the results of her research with the theme of Power Relations between Employers and Batik Workers in Solo. In her presentation, Kania explained the theory used, the methods used and also the results of the research that had been conducted with a research team from outside UIN Sunan Kalijaga. This research is a collaborative research, he said in front of Prof. Sabine and the lecturers who were present at that time. After Kanita finished presenting the results of her research using good English, the next session was the core session, where the writing was criticized by a guest lecturer who was an expert in methods from Germany.

Prof. Sabine, started by discussing the author, because in the writing presented Kanita was the third author. The order of authors is important, because it is very dependent on the contribution given. If the order of authors is second and third, this needs to be considered by the author. The point is that teamwork is very necessary in research, and the size of the author's contribution also needs to be taken into account in the order of writing in writing the article. However, that was a team agreement, the point is there was no conflict between the teams.

Prof. Sabine also said that the selection of a large and opposing grand theory must be carefully considered by the author. Marx's theory, for example, is about the conflict between the working class and industrial employers. While the study presented is not a large industry, because the workers are individuals and it is done at home, not in an industry. Likewise with the theory of Phenomenology, it must be considered if it will be used so that the writing produces quality writing.

Advice from Prof. Sabine for the power relations of the working class and employers needs to be made novel if using Mark's theory, there is marginalization between owners and workers and marginalization between workers and buyers. He gave an example of a case in Germany, there was marginalization, a boss could go anywhere. If here there is a product sold in one place, who gets the most profit, sales because they sell the product at a very expensive price, he said.

Not only that, Prof. Sabine also observed the method. It was revealed that the method explained the selection of informants and also how many minutes were interviewed. The time given between one informant and another should not be too unequal, because it will affect the accuracy of the data. In this section, one of the participants, Napsiah, asked for the statement to be repeated. Because, so far, her experience interviewing informants has never been given the same time. Sometimes there are informants who are interviewed for 2 hours, 3 hours or even 4 hours. So her research experience so far, interview time has not been considered, said Napsiah.

In presenting data, Prof. Sabine said that the photos displayed in the text article must be relevant according to the text presented, because photos are part of the data. If you display photos about environmental damage, while the author discusses power relations, then clearly these are two irrelevant themes. So just choose one theme. If you want to be safe, then use relevant photos. Usually photos are not really needed in articles, so the author simply presents data using text, tables and narratives, this is much better than displaying photos but the photos do not show the theme that is the focus of the research.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Sabine supported and provided support for the progress of the article so that it could be published in international journals. Local issues can be read at the global level, as she ended the meeting by giving a smile typical of her scientists. Thank you Prof. Sabine Brombach for your knowledge today, it is a positive energy for us to continue writing. There is a saying: "ala bisa karena biasa", maybe that's what we will do. Researching, writing and publishing. Hopefully we will become learners who always disseminate our ideas to the international level through scientific writings that are accepted at the international level. (Napsiah).
