Sociology Laboratory Work Meeting, Synergize Towards Productive Labs

The Sociology Laboratory (Labsos), Sociology Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University again held a work meeting for the management of the new period with the theme "Synergizing Towards Productive Labsos". This event was held face-to-face in the Interactive Center room, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

This work meeting is a series of mandatory internal Labsos programs. After the inauguration of the new management who chose Ahmad Nadhif Haq as chairman with the Daily Management team Luveni Biyul Rahmah and Ashfi Mazida Maulia (secretary) and Adinata Perdana Putra and Aura Azzahra (treasurer), the work meeting became the focus of activities that must be carried out in order to prepare a work program in one management.

Ceremonial events took place solemnly, such as singing the national anthem Indonesia Raya and the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Hymn. In addition to members of the Sociology Laboratory, this work meeting was also attended by several lecturers from the Sociology Study Program. As the secretary of the study program, Ui Ardaninggar Luhtitianti, MA, also delivered remarks and motivations which at the same time opened the work meeting. The lecturer, who is often called Bu UI, gave a brief presentation related to the performance of the Sociology Laboratory in the previous several periods in general.

Then the event continued with the presentation of the work program of each division in the Sociology Laboratory. This presentation aims to make all members of Labsos know clearly what is the agenda for each division's activities as well as open opportunities for intense collaboration between divisions. The submission begins with the Daily Management Board which is filled by the chairman, treasurer and secretary. After that, it was continued by the Human Resources Department which took care of various matters related to the membership's internal resources; the Communication and Engagement Department which builds networks with organizations outside the campus; the Content Creator Department which is in charge of managing content, either through graphic design or visual documentation; Social Community Department that carries out community service functions; and finally the Research and Development Department, which is the cornerstone of sociology in the field of research and development of research and writing.

The six divisions explain how the program objectives, program objectives, timeline, and outputs are planned together which then gets criticism and input from members of other divisions. For example, input for the Content Creator division regarding the creation of creative content formats and the delivery of long-term collaboration programs with other divisions.

In addition, several programs that were launched also received input from the Head of the Sociology Laboratory, BJ Sujibto. He also explained about the new program which is included in the agenda of the Research and Development Department in the form of "Thesis Clinic" which is expected to be able to help students solve the problems they experience related to their final thesis. Other programs that received input related to the agenda at the Sociology Laboratory were Academic Writing, Assisted Villages, English Language Training, and plans for Sociology Laboratory visits to other campuses that could be carried out offline or online.

Furthermore, there is one program plan that is expected to be a "beacon" in Labsos activities, namely organizing a national-scale writing competition. This activity is expected to be held regularly at least once a year in each management period. This is planned in addition to adding the existence of a Sociology Laboratory outside the campus as well as a means of improving academic aspects for internal students majoring in sociology in Indonesia.

After receiving input and intensive discussion, the event committee and Labsos management revised the work program plan and at the same time prepared the next steps for the smooth running of Labsos activities and programs going forward (Asna-20).
