Writing scientific articles to be submitted to reputable international journals really requires detailed and detailed method writing, even in the method section it is also requested to provide a statement of the informant's willingness to be published and also a willingness to comply with publication ethics. This condition was experienced by one of the Sociology lecturers, Dr. Napsiah, M.Si. Her experience of being rejected several times by reputable journals has encouraged her to learn directly with a method expert from Germany, Prof. Sabine on Monday, March 3 at 9:00 -12:00 WIB. Together with lecturers from the Sociology Study Program including, Dwi Nur Laela Fithriya, M.A., Nisrina Muthahari, M.A., Kanita Khoirun Nisa, M.A., Bj. Sujibto, M.A., Andri Rosadi, Ph.D, and Achmad Uzair, Ph.D., as well as Mrs. Ambar Sari Dewi, Ph.D. The discussion was held in the Sociology study program meeting room warmly and with a sense of family.
On the agenda, several journal articles were presented in front of Prof. Sabine to show that the article was still shallow so that it was not yet worthy of publication. In addition, Napsiah also showed a rejection letter sent by the journal editor stating that the article in question was not strong in method. Napsiah even presented her article that had been submitted to a reputable journal Scopus Q1 and had received review results, since October 2024, but until now it has not been published. The status in OJS is still in the administrator Prof. Sabine looked carefully, and asked for the article to be studied further.
Prof. Sabine said that writing articles must be done in groups to make the work easier. Create small groups and divide the tasks as she suggested. Then discuss with friends whether this method can show how to get good data, both qualitative, quantitative or a combination of qualitative and quantitative, correctly. In addition, Prof. Sabine also asked the lecturers to use good language, because with good language, ideas will be conveyed well. In addition, Prof. Sabine asked to continue working and not to give up on articles that were not published.
At the meeting, several questions raised by Sociology Lecturers could be discussed well, so that Prof. Sabine gave awards to friends who had submitted and had articles even though they had not been published, but the articles could be used as material for discussion on Wednesday, March 4, 2025.
